This year, 35 schools from the three countries of the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion can take part in the project free of charge.

As technology has no borders and communicating in three languages is not so easy, English has been chosen as the language of communication, based on the experience of the previous editions.

Create your solution

The project starts with two (guest) lessons with a research question. A team of guest teachers will visit your school. They will assist the students in coming up with innovative ideas. These ideas will solve contemporary (social) problems. These may be small problems (such as finding lost keys) or large problems (such as using more sustainable sources for transport). Because pupils are allowed to come up with their own ideas, it fits in well with their perception of the world.

This year's theme is 'Sustainability' and is divided into the following topics:

  1. 1. Waste
  2. 2. Energy
  3. 3. Logistics (transportation)
  4. 4. Technology

During the lesson, the pupils make a description and an outline of their inventions, register their profile on the website and preferably make a short film in which they pitch their ideas. The pupils will then use these materials to collect votes.

Prove your skills

The inventors of each region with the most votes will take their whole class to the final event. This event consists of various workshops and a technique quiz. The workshops are judged by an international jury and the scores from the technology quiz are taken into account. The winning school will take home an award and a cash prize of € 1,000.

Make it happen

These five winning inventions from the winning teams (max. 5 students/team) from "Create your solution" will be given the opportunity in the post-project to develop their invention into a prototype under the guidance of designers and engineers. So not the entire class of the winning team! In this part, Euroregional cooperation and (technical) communication in English will also be discussed

With the EUTech Award, we want pupils to go through the process of identifying problems, thinking of solutions and producing a prototype. As a reward, these prototypes will be given a virtual exhibition on the website.
